What is Confirmation?

You are about to embark on a wonderful journey.

The purpose of this journey is to prepare you for an important moment in your life called Confirmation. It is that moment when you are invited to take the step from childhood to adulthood in the eyes of the church. It is that moment when all the promises that your family made for you at your baptism are offered to you. Will you deny the promises, or will you confirm that these promises are now your promises?

Your MISSION: Be Ready for Confirmation

  1. Complete KNOWLEDGE QUEST, COMMUNITY QUEST, and ACTION QUEST during 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade
  2. Complete 9TH GRADE QUEST

The Destination

Our destination is not a place, but an ever-deepening relationship with God. We are called to grow deeper in the love of God, through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, for the sake of the world.

The heart of the Journey to Confirmation is small groups. You will be part of a small group of students your age who are led by an adult mentor. You don’t have to take this journey alone. The mentor’s job is to help you, and the group, figure out the best path to take to get to the end goal.

Decide your Path

Before you begin, you need to decide which Path you want to take for your Middle School years.

Wednesday Night Groups

The Wednesday Night Track meets at Easter by the Lake on Wednesday Nights from 6:30-8:00 (we don’t meet during Advent). We will form groups at the New Student Orientation Meeting. CLICK HERE if you would like to be a Wednesday Mentor.

Camp Groups

Camp Groups receive the majority of their knowledge badges during one week at Camp Wapo in August. These groups are formed at the New Student Orientation on the Wednesday before Camp (Camp runs Sunday – Friday). Camp Groups connect with their mentors at COGS (Confirmation Opporunity for Growth and Service). COGS happens on the Second Sunday of the month at Easter by the Lake. CLICK HERE if you would like to be a Camp Group Mentor.

Independent Groups

Life is busy and many families have special challenges. The independent groups create their own plan to complete the Knowledge, Community, and Action Quests. CLICK HERE if you would like to be an Independent Group Mentor (all mentors must have a background check and complete mentor training).

Family Groups.

Some families may choose to take the Journey to Confirmation as a group in themselves. The parents are the mentors and the siblings are the group. This may fit many families who cannot participate in the other paths for various reasons.

Form a group of your own

You might not be able to meet on Wednesdays or attend Camp in August for whatever reason. You could gather a group of families together to form a group. The adult mentor of this group would have to go through the same mentor training with the Pastor, but once you are an official mentor group, you can meet in your own time and space and work through the Journey in your own way.

Note: Family Groups and Form Your Own Groups are highly encouraged to participate in the Fall Confirmation Retreat and plug into as many Community Building Opportunities as possible.
